聖誕前夕拜訪養老院－Shermy=Share with Me 六寶媽日誌

六歲的大兒子和我一起寫給老人家們的聖誕卡

另外還準備了彩繪石頭和巧克力禮盒

受到一篇新聞的激勵，我決定也要寫卡片和準備小禮物送給養老院的獨居老人。我和大兒子一起寫卡片，每張卡片上有大兒子的塗鴉，我準備了彩繪石頭並買了巧克力小禮盒。今天我們全家一起把卡片、巧克力禮盒和彩繪石頭一個一個的交到老人家們的手上，並請大兒子一封一封的將卡片內容朗讀出來；有的老人笑了，有的老人感動落淚，有的老人告訴我說這是他收到的第一張聖誕卡…老人家們的回饋與反應完全出乎我意料…當初寫卡片時我並沒有想到這趟拜訪可以帶給我這麼大的喜悅與震撼…

老人家們看到可愛的孩子們眼睛都亮了起來，孩子的拜訪真的是最佳的禮物。這趟拜訪讓我確認我一定要持續做下去，祝福那些在重要節日卻沒有親人能拜訪的獨居者，能感受到溫暖。

I was inspired by the news of writing Christmas cards for those orphaned elderly in the nursing home. So I contact the nursing home and get the list for people in need. Garrett and I wrote the cards, and each card has Garrett’s drawing in it. I prepared painted rocks as gift and bought some wrap up chocolate as well. Today, our family go to visit the elderly and give the cards with gift and chocolate one by one, and Garrett read out loud each of the cards for them. Some elderly smile, some elderly cry with joy, some told me this is the first Christmas card they received. The reaction and feedbacks from the elderly was out of my expectation and totally fill my heart. I have no idea this visit will bring so much joy and I’m totally stocked.

The eyes of the elderly shine so bright when they saw the kids. Some told me it’s the best gift they can have. After this visit, one thing for sure I will keep doing it till I’m die. And wish those orphaned elderly who has nobody come to visit can feel some warm in this important day.
